The face behind the business, it’s me! Hi!

My name is Sophie (surprise, surprise!) I am a Registered Nurse, queer and neurodivergent. I’m also a Masters student, cat mum, lover of dancing and eating with friends (not at the same time, usually) yoga, and the occasional baker– its SO lovely to meet you!

I have been getting aesthetic treatments myself for almost 10 years now and whilst I love aesthetic treatments and the positive things they can do – I have a bit of a dislike for the aesthetic industry, the unrealistic expectations it sets on humans and the negativity that surrounds it. I created Joy by Sophie to offer something different.

Honestly, ask me anything – there’s no question too small!

ASK ME ANYTHING

Queer- and Neurodivergent-friendly – what does that even mean?

Queer is an umbrella term used to define anyone who isn’t heterosexual or cisgender, and was considered a slur for a long time but it’s now being reclaimed.

To us, being Queer- and Neurodivergent-friendly is to challenge the concept that people should fit into a binary and standing against any form of oppression or marginalisation of anyone in society regardless of ALL characteristics, including sexuality, gender, ethnicity, disability, social class, or beliefs.

We offer tailored and specialised services for those who are neurodivergent using a range of resources and techniques, we also recognise that being neurodivergent is a scale – what works for me might not work for you or the next person.

That’s why every single appointment is unique and tailored to you as an individual and your needs – whatever that is.
