What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters – what is all the fuss about?

Skin boosters are a form of injectable serum used to improve skin hydration, texture, and elasticity. They work by supplying hyaluronic acid and other revitalising ingredients directly to the dermis, by passing the skin barrier and providing nourishment to the skin cells increasing the skin quality and radiance. There are different forms of skin booster, all with their own unique properties and benefits. Want to know more… keep reading!

How do skin boosters work?

After the age of 30, we lose around 1% of our natural hyaluronic acid, which can result in the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, and a reduction of skin firmness and elasticity. When the skin booster treatment is injected within the dermis, the high level of hyaluronic acid in the booster attracts and binds to water within the body and triggers the production of collagen and elastin improve the skin's texture and appearance.

the different skin boosters

Profhilo

Profhilo is the most popular skin booster treatment I offer, and it’s easy to see why. Profhilo is an award-winning, bio-remodelling injectable that contains 64mg of Hyaluronic Acid per treatment. Using patented hyaluronic acid technology, this stabilised product works over a prolonged period to stimulate four types of collagen and elastin to restore the skin’s natural firmness and elasticity. Profhilo can be used on the face, neck, or décolletage, and the specialised Profhilo Body treatment can target areas around the body to increase skin firmness and hydration.

Jalupro

Jalupro is a unique skin booster treatment, combining powerful ingredients such as peptides, amino acids, and hyaluronic acid to revitalise and rejuvenate the skin’s appearance. The amino acids and peptide proteins provide essential nourishment to the fibroblasts and connective tissues within the skin cells. By stimulating fibroblasts, Jalupro encourages the proliferation of new skin cells, improving skin quality and restoring natural volume to the face. Jalupro can be used on multiple areas and is an excellent option for treating hollowing or dark circles under the eyes, thanks to its ability to thicken the dermis.

The process

Skin booster treatments can be administered using a variety of injection techniques depending on the area being treated. Most skin booster injections are performed by administering a small amount of product across 5 key injection points on each side of the face, a method known as the five-point facelift technique. For more specific or concentrated areas of concern, a mesotherapy technique can be used, which involves multiple smaller injections over the treatment area. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure comfort during the procedure.

Most skin booster treatments require a course of sessions to achieve optimal results, with maintenance recommended every 4-6 months. With little to no downtime, it's easy to see why skin boosters are one of the most popular aesthetic treatments today!
