How Long Do anti-wrinkle treatments Last – And How Can I Make them Last Longer?

Whether you’re new to anti-wrinkle treatments (commonly called Botox) or a regular who loves a fresh forehead, one of the most common questions I get asked is: “How long will it last?”

The short answer? Around 12 weeks. But there’s a little more to it than that – so let’s dive in!

How Quickly Will I See Results?

Anti-wrinkle treatments don’t work instantly.

Some clients notice results from around day 3–5, but for most people, it takes up to two full weeks to see the maximum effect. So don’t panic if you don’t see a difference right away – it’s working quietly behind the scenes!

“Maintaining your results involves taking care of your skin and lifestyle choices, but anti-wrinkle treatments are a temporary solution that can be enhanced by regular touch-ups.”

How Long Does It Actually Last?

Once the results have kicked in, you’ll typically enjoy smoother, more relaxed skin for around 3 months.

That said, it does start to gradually taper off as your body breaks it down. You won’t wake up one day and find it’s all disappeared – rather, you’ll notice movement slowly returning over time.

Fun fact: Anti-wrinkle treatments can sometimes last longer in the lower face, or in areas where muscles are less active. Every face is unique!

Can I Make It Last Longer?

There’s no magic trick to make anti-wrinkle treatments last forever, but there are some smart ways to prolong your results:

Avoid high-intensity exercise for 24 hours post-treatment

Heavy workouts increase circulation and could reduce the effectiveness of your treatment.

Stay consistent with treatments

Regular appointments (every 12–16 weeks) help train your muscles and may lead to longer-lasting results over time.

Take care of your skin

Sun exposure and smoking can cause skin damage, which may reduce the impact of your results. Daily SPF is a must!

Stay hydrated and eat well

General wellness really does play a role in how your skin looks and behaves.

Don’t overuse the area

Lots of exaggerated expressions (especially early on) can reduce the time anti-wrinkle treatments last. You don’t need to freeze – but give your face a little rest while it settles!

The Bottom Line?

Anti-wrinkle treatments is a brilliant tool for softening lines, refreshing your appearance and boosting your confidence. But it’s not permanent – and that’s okay! With the right care, you can keep your results looking gorgeous for as long as possible.

And when you’re ready for a top-up? I’ve got you!
